Users of Microsoft Excel are to format, arrange, and compute data in a spreadsheet. Data analysts and other users can make information easier to examine as Data is added or altered by organizing data using tools like Excel.

AutoFill Your Cells

Place the mouse pointer over the cell’s bottom right corner and hold it there until a black + symbol appears. Drag the + symbol over the cells you wish to fill in while clicking and holding down the left mouse button. Additionally, the AutoFill tool automatically fills in the series for you.

Flash Fill

You can go to Data> Flash Fill to run it manually or press Ctrl+E. To turn Flash Fill on, go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Editing Options > check the Automatically Flash Fill box.

Paste Special to Transpose

You can either use the Ctrl + Alt + V keyboard shortcut or the Paste button in the Home tab of the ribbon. Select the All radio button under the Paste options. Check the Transpose box. Press the OK button.

Hide A Whole Sheet

Right-click a sheet tab, and then select All Sheets on the shortcut menu. On the Home tab, click Format > under Visibility > Hide & Unhide > Hide Sheet.

Use Personal Workbook for Macros

  • On the Developer tab, click Record Macro. (If the developer tab is not visible, follow the steps: On the File tab, go to Options > Customize Ribbon, Under Customize the Ribbon, and under Main Tabs, select the Developer check box.)
  • In the Record Macro dialog box, type a meaningful name for the macro in the Macro name box. …
  • In the Store macro in box, select Personal Macro Workbook.
  • Click OK.
